Aaron,

I guess the double function may not make any difference, but I took this
from the Simon Says script in the manual.  I just thought that since it
was in there , it ought to be that way.

Option Explicit is a good idea also, but my main question was about
getting the listview to display properly, and then getting all the items
in that one list item to speak.

I know that I've got something wrong here, but I don't know what!

Just at first glance, you have this function defined twice. I would
strongly recommend adding:

Option Explicit

at the top of your code to weed out these kinds of errors.
