good luck Gert-Jan.

I'm sorry to say this, but scripting for window eyes is *all* programming.
I suggest you learn VBScript, as it's probably the easiest language to
program in for window eyes scripting.

Also, you should have a look at the brand new "hot spot" script. It's
designed to allow you to make applications much more accessible without the
need for programming. Perhaps it will work in your case and you won't have
to learn programming.

hth,

Chip

Hello Chip,

Yes, just a litle bit. I can write SQL and a litle bit PHP and XML. I don't
like programming very much, therefore I'll only want to know the things that
are necesary for scripting for Window-Eyes. I'll start with the wiki page. I
took a short look at the page and it seems very useful, thanks.

Hi Gert-Jan,

first, I'd suggest the wiki for GW at http://gwmicro.com/wiki

there are two articles I've started writing, entitled "so you want to write
a script" parts 1 and 2. others are working on more, but these are what
there is as far as pulling it altogether for now.

they reference other material, including the audio recordings on the gw
micro audio page, where they recorded some 2 hour sessions where they taught
a very basic introduction to scripting class. I believe these sessions were
aimed at those who already knew some programming, but check them out, maybe
they don't assume much.

do you have any programming background or experience?

Chip

Subject: Learn to write scripts

Hello all,

I'm working as support emplyee for an internet serviceprovider. We're using
a few advanced applications that update sometimes with new functionalities.
The programs are not out of the box accessible. Therefore I want to learn
how to mak scripts for Window-Eyes in Visual Basic.

Can you give me some tips how to learn scripting? For example, a title of a
good book or a website with useful examples?

Thank you in advanced for your reply.

Gert-Jan
