ok Garry, here's the link to the rss feed below; the link to the page of
audio archives was in the previous message I just sent:

Hi Chip,

Thanks, that sounds great.
Can you put the link in a message so it will be easy to get? Again thanks
for all you do.

Thanks for the idea Garry, there is now an RSS link on the page for
scripting classes podcasts:

Chip

p.s.
class is every Sunday night at 7 pm EST, for those who have TeamTalk; just
drop me an email if you'd like a TeamTalk .tt file to get to the server and
channel (with password), so you can ask questions.

Hi Chip,

Did you think about doing an rss link so we can get it in our podcatchers.

Rick,

you never know what improvements are in 7.5, so don't give up hope yet on
your financial web site.

I'm afraid dropbox, when you make a file public, works just like any other
web site; and, it has really awkward naming, which I'd have to communicate
to everyone somehow (and maybe I could use the text message feature for
that, but it makes one message into multiple messages if it gets too long).
Still, if anyone continues to have trouble with downloading the class files,
I'll give it a try..

Chip

Hi Chip: I could download ok. I thought, incorrectly it seems, that DropBox
would allow one version of a file to be uploaded. Then, everyone in the
class could go to file on the DropBox server and cursor up and down through
that one version of the file online without having to download it. If that
is not the case then there doesn't seem much reason to use it over the
mechanism we used in the prior tutorial on Team Talk to download files you
upload.
Well, off to some other headaches this morning... My Stock Broker modified
their website and parts of it are no longer accessible with either IE8 nor
Firefox.
Great...
Later and thanks Chip:

        Rick,

everyone would have to download a file, since dropbox when used this
way, acts like a web server for the file.

Did you not know the files were on the channel, or was downloading
them using the TT download mechanism the problem? (if so, it could possibly
be made easier with the TT app).

        Chip

Hi Aaron: That sounds pretty good. Ya, a common file the students
could access while talking about the file's contents. That way everyone is
on the same page without downloading the file. And, it helps keep changes
during the session in sync. I don't see why that wouldn't be a good adjunct
to Team Talk either since there would be no reading aloud from a screen
reader to cause feedback.
        Thanks Aaron:

Dropbox would be another solution for sharing code.

server for the class? Its instructor could add files that everyone can read
or copy to their local drives as necessary. You could give students write
access to the FTP as well, but if I were doing it I'd rather them send
material through the instructor to avoid overclutter in the workspace.

microphone close to their

through code to see if that
would work to read text into the TT server?I
am wondering if that would
cause feedback like my attempt to use Stereo
Mix.
I am thinking about the ability for the
group to hear code blocks for
any member asking questions about their own
scripts. Originally I
thought of using StereoMix but that caused
massive feedback.
