System sounds are sounds that are generated by Windows across all
applications. The progress beeps are specific to Window Eyes and the new
mail notifier is specific to your EMail client. You should find volume
sliders for running third party applications in the volume mixer.

Hi,
I'm wondering what sounds the system sounds volume control affects and
whether or not sounds can be added to it control.
Some of the system sounds, like say, the windows default beep seem to
be one of the sounds this slider controls. Yet it has no impact on
the progress indicator beeps or the new mail notification sound I
created myself. The latter I know is a .wav file and I placed it in
the same folder with all the MS Windows sounds. I presume the former
are .wav files as well, though I have not yet found them to verify.
Thanks for any advice.
