Hi gang: I finished, as much as I want to do, the Translation application.
Since I can't sell it without some personal problems involving SS and Medicare
I am thinking of giving it to someone to use or distribute as they see fit.
First, You will need to get your own Microsoft Key which they will give you
free even for commercial use. I have the form they sent me and they said for
this use they would be glad to issue a free key.
I am still using the free key I picked up for development purposes but will not
allow others to use it in a production environment .
The application is created in VB.net 2008 and, since it's coding was intended
only for me,is a little obtuse but workable enough for any intermediate to
advanced experienced VB.net programmer to hack their way through.
I have tested it and it works pretty well. So, if you have the technicals to
work on this puppy if it needs any more work and you want to get your own MS
key you are welcome to the project.
I am tied up with another project, a Bill Payment and Financial tracking
application for myself, and don't have time to do anything with it.
As I mentioned it was created in VB.net Express 2008 and I think I used xML for
any storage requirements but actually forget since I finished it some time ago
and have not had time to ReVisit that project.
It's doing nobody any good just sitting here gathering dust so I have decided
to make it available to qualified programmers to deploy and, or, continue
developing new features.
Well, that's it. Let me know if you want it and if you have the technicals to
continue testing, if necessary, and deploy it.
To deploy it you will have to have a few help and other files downloaded
including the .exe module into likely the standard WindowEyes folder.
Again I have tested the whole thing on my computer here in Farmington Michigan
and it worked well but stuff happens when you start testing across language and
culture borders so some tweaking may be necessary to make it work well in those
situations.
Oh ya, the Language Translator UI interface is set up to read the culture info
from any client machine in any culture and if a MS Translation exists the
entire app UI is changed into that language so a person in say Germany might
download the Translater and use it in their own language to translate WE files
into any other supported language.
If you are a GW person I will sign off and you can use this app as you see fit
including selling it. Otherwise I would prefer it be made freely available to
the WindowEyes Community to help foster more international participation in
scripting as Chip did with his excellant online classes.
