Hi Everyone!
I have just released an update to my app, RodSymbolInserter!
You can download the app from App Central at the following page:
https://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/App_Details/?scriptid=1384
If you prefer, you can find it using AppGet from the Apps menu in the
Window-Eyes control panel; it is found in the General category; again,
the name is RodSymbolInserter.
Read on to learn the features of the current version, and enjoy!
All the best,

Welcom to RodSymbolInserter!
This app allows you to use hot keys of your choice to insert keyboard
symbols or strings of text.
The previous version of this app allowed you to insert only those hard
to reach keyboard symbols, namely, backslash (\), at sign (@), number
sign (#), dollar sign ($), percent (%), hyphen (-), ampersand (&), equal
sign (=), left parenthesis ((), and right parenthesis ()).
Now, you can assign hot keys to 10 text strings of your choice.
When the app is first installed, the 10 symbols listed above occupy the
10 inserter edit boxes in the Inserter Configuration dialog.
Once you decide what text you want inserted by each inserter, tab to the
Hotkey Manager and assign the hot key to use for each one.
That’s all there really is to this app.
The only other buttons to note in the Inserter configuration dialog is
Restore defaults, which fills the dialog with the 10 symbols listed
above, and Help, which speaks a message to aid the user with the dialog.
In addition to giving the user more flexibility in inserting symbols,
another reason for upgrading this app was to remove the default hot keys
assigned to the equal sign (Alt-semicolon) and hyphen (Alt-apostrophe);
since Window-Eyes has been upgraded to allow easier spell-checking with
these two hot keys, I wanted to avoid causing users problems should they
attempt to use the new spell-check method. For this reason, the app is
installed with all hot keys undefined. This will make it necessary to
reassign any hot keys you have previously assigned, and allow me to
apologize for any inconvenience which this causes.
Enjoy!
