Hi all,
Anyone still interested in beta testing Remind Me Where can find the latest beta (0.4.0) at: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11745142/Remind_Me_Where.wepm (you can choose to "open" the file to have it immediately installed if you like) This has the documentation expanded, and a "street filter" added to the list of search results, so that you can limit the results which are displayed to just those on a specific street. When you make use of the street filter, the app goes back to Google to get results from all 3 groups, and combines them into a single group, then shows you just those results on a specific street (still ordered by increasing distance). Without this street filter, what Google gives you is a spiral pattern of results which are in increasing distance from your starting point; this means however it's often jumping from one street to another, to keep them sorted by distance. This filter may help you better understand how places are laid out. Hth and please do send me your suggestions, as well as just your impressions as to what you like and don't like about the app. Chip acora...@comcast.net p.s. For those who haven't seen this app before, it's designed to help you find places near to a given location, or those meeting various search criteria. Also, it gives you excellent directions for getting from one place to another, either when driving, walking, or using public transit (if your city provides Google with your transit information; if not, keep asking them to do so). The directions even allow you to see what's near-by to each turn to stop along the route, and allow you to specify various waypoints the route must go past. It also allows you to keep your own database of important points of interest, to be used in searches and when getting directions.
