BTW Bruce,
My point was that just saying "yes" is not enough. "Yes" allows me to start the installation process, but then WE requires you to install the app by pressing alt-I in the app installation dialog which I start, in order to actually install this secondary app. There's nothing I can do about this, and if you just close this dialog, the installation doesn't happen, and you'll be asked again. Also, sometimes, I have updated the GPS app, and WE will prompt you itself, asking you if you want to install the update. It does seem to have a way of installing updates without requiring you to press the "install" button of the installation dialog for each one, so it can get confusing. Now having said that there was no request to install today, but all other times it had asked for it. Maybe there is a slight installation issue concerning XP but at the moment the message has gone away. In some case as I had mentioned before privately, I was getting errors which may have prevented loading but when those errors stopped it still had those prompts for several days. As of today there was no message. But sending you emails privately is not possible due to spam blockage done by your server, Com Cast. Bruce Sent: Friday, July 25, 2014 8:01 PM Subject: RE: Error Reporting: version beta 0.8.0 of Remind Me Where Bruce, One thing to note is that when I download the GPS app I start the Window-Eyes installation process for an app; this opens a dialog which gives you an overview of the dialog's description, it's list of files, etc. and most importantly, it requires you to choose "install" here in order to actually install it. If you don't do this, then the next time you run Remind Me Where, it will indeed do it all over again. If you want to see if this is the case, go into the app manager, and see if the gps app is listed there, and if so is it running, and if so is it the latest version of 3.3.0. I'm guessing one of these is not the case. Thanks. The message is that it thinks it is spam or my server thinks your address is, tht has been reported to them. I am writing again tonight because when powering up my XP the message to download the GPS came up again, saying it needs it to run the app. But, it has been downloaded already but for some reason it is not being loaded. Once again after downloading it that error in line 847 came up again. This time I just stopped the app instead of restarting. I do not know what is going on, but there is a problem with the GPS app hooking in with the Remind Me app. Your email server thinks my email address is spam, see error below. Bruce Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 3:52 PM Subject: Re: Error Upon Installing GPS Script Hi Chip, The error came when the request for the GPS install came. I think there was a message about running apps prior to this when the latest download/install was done. Upon power-up a few minutes ago it still wanted the GPS installation, so that error apparently came when the first install was going on while possibly those same apps were running. I don't know if you can check or not, but possibly if those apps are running is there a need for another install of them? Or removal if detected as running so the new app will not encounter that error. It was an unknown error probably due to the event object already running, who knows. At the moment no errors but have not used the hotkey yet. Bruce Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2014 1:12 PM Subject: RE: Error Upon Installing GPS Script Thanks Bruce for the report. Line 847 had an error but no error email came up, just a standard VBS error and I clicked on help and it took me to App Development, ConnectObject. So, it was a Connect Object assignment on line 847; see below. ' connect to all GPS events gnGPSEvents = ConnectObject(goGPSControl, "gps_") Note, it had no error description, the reason why I can not give you one. This is my XP computer it loaded onto.
