I am not a gwibber developer, but I have looked into this issue a little bit. Hopefully there is something I'm missing, because it doesn't look good.
Most photo sites have an easy way to build a thumbnail url, given the link url. The plixi image number must be converted to hexadecimal, but even then, from what I can tell, plixi uses a number of possible servers to host the thumbnails. Basically the only way I have found to embed plixi thumbnails is to have gwibber download the whole plixi page that was linked, and then extract the links to the thumbnails. That is really not a clean solution, and can severely affect performance of the client. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Gwibber Bug Heros, which is subscribed to Gwibber. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/648442 Title: Add support for plixi.com image hosting service Status in Gwibber: New Bug description: Tweetphoto.com recently changed it's name to plixi.com. Gwibber should show image previews from tweets containing plixi.com links like it does for other image hosting services. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~gwibber-bugs Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~gwibber-bugs More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
