I am not sure if this can be done but I do understand what you mean. You'd like to have a feature that will filter the posts of your friends to status message only and not Links, Photos and Videos. As far as I know, those four including the Status are all considered to be part of *the News Feed*. But that would be a very good option in Gwibber as well as in Facebook.

I think its nessesary for a Status option. I use facebook to watch my friends' news and what they are posting. Because most people uses many apps and games on fb their wall gets full of annoying (for me) posts and i just dont want to watch all these.
