I think that is handled by the notification system in gnome-shell.
Gwibber doesn't do anything to display that. I think gnome-shell might
just leave the icon of the last notification. Someone who knows more
about gnome-shell would need to figure out a way to handle that better,
or perhaps it is a gnome-shell bug.

Bug description:
When gwibber-services is providing an icon in the gnome-shell
messaging tray, this icon changes to the avatar of the most recently
received tweet. I feel this is more confusing than simply providing
the application icon.
