There isn't anything heavy going on when the client starts up, we should
be able to reduce the startup time considerably by making more things
async.

Bug description:
Gwibber appear to take much longer to bring up the main window
compated with 11.04. On my other, slightly slower machine running
11.04, I get the gwibber window between 2-4 seconds, while on this
machine running 11.10, it takes a good 8 seconds+ before anything
happens.
