Sorry for the late reply as I have been out of the country without internet access. I upgraded to 12.04 and the version of gwibber that is there doesn't contain this issue. I think it would be safe to close this bug.

I know it sounds a little confusing but look at the attached image and you'll see what I'm talking about. Keep up the good work.
