I haven't dug into the POM here very carefully, but it looks like maybe it was an old one that was migrated forward to a newer GWT-Maven version? I say that because it has all the "generator" stuff in it (which no longer works), and it has a few other odd things (using GWT 1.5.0 and not using automatic mode for example). Check the GWT-Maven docs and try just a typical POM for for your project (highly recommend automatic mode too). That may or may not be related to your issues, but cleaning it up a bit might help in general?
