How urgent is this for you?
I've prepared a Debian package which enables pygwy, but it is not yet
uploaded to the Debian ftp-servers, as my sponsor (I cannot upload myself)
is currently busy. Depending on your architecture (amd64 or i386) and Ubuntu
version, I could try to provide you with a working package. Otherwise it
might take some more (hopefully only) days until it's available from the
usual Debian (and later the Ubuntu) servers.
