Interesting, and promising. I have tried to open on 3 different computers, running 3 different versions (2.19 being the most recent I have, but all are running on some version of Windows). The error is the same on all versions. I have attached the Gwyddion.log file from my computer, which can hopefully shed some light on the problem.

I tried Gwyddion 2.20 but that should not matter. What OS you use Gwyddion on? Does it print some warnigs to the console when you try to open the file (on Unix) or gwyddion.log (on MS Windows)?
