Hello, Gwyddion uses a left-handed coordinate system. This cannot be changed. If you talk about images left-handed is the norm while if you talk about data values at some Cartesian coordinates right-handed is the norm. Gwyddion does a bit of both so a choice had to be made – and it is left-handed. We tried to explain in the user guide how direction and angles in the image plane are to be understood. If something is inconsistent with this description please complain.
