OK, I'm not completely understand current algorithm implemented, but it seems to me that at each step for each point in datafield it is finding local minimum starting from that point and then adding dropsize*(max-min)/5000 to the value in the minimum and marking this pixel as grain. if the next time it is no longer minimum, grain will grow up.
