The data browser shows images in the active file (displayed at the top). An SPM file can contain many images, for instance the different channels, like height, phase, current, deflection error – and other types of data. The goal of the data browser is to browse and manage them. If you equate file = image the data browser will not make much sense. When you duplicate an image, it adds a copy of the image to the same file. Of course, if you imported a simple image file like JPEG then it may not be able to contain multiple images. But the GWY file format can. > When only one image is listed, deselecting the image causes it to close (not > just be hidden). When all images in a file are closed, the entire file is closed. > Is there something I need to set so that all open images will be listed > together in the data browser? No, the browser browses the current file.
