You can find out a little about the Maker functions in the GX Deveolper
Manual.  Maker provides a way to easily recall a GX to recalculate data in a
channel.  If a Maker has been specified, it appears at the bottom of the
pop-up menu when you right-click the head of a column.

I like you, have no idea what the associate function does and I haven't
found any more information.

Could someone out there elaborate on the purpose of these functions and why
one might use them.  I see them used in some of the GX source code but it's
not clear from the context or the comments in db.gxh what they do.
