NULLSYMB as it sounds means that there is no
symbol. GetProfileRange() returns as its last argument the X channel of
the displayed profile. If the X axis is the fiducials which is most often
the case, then the returned argument is NULLSYMB, because the fiducial is
not a real channel, but rather it is generated on the fly as needed from the
start and increment information of the channel. If however the x axis of
the profile is a distance channel that exists in the database then the last
argument returned is the handle to that channel.

Can anyone explain the meaning of NULLSYMB handle
to me. Particularly in the context of GetProfileRangeX_EDB() function as it
appears in the PLOTPROFILE.GX. The documentation in the EDB.GXH says the
parameter is the handle for the X axis. The parameter as it is set in
PLOTPROFILE is ChX, but ChX is set to equal NULLSYMB.
