AAron;

NULLSYMB as it sounds means that there is no symbol.  GetProfileRange() returns as its last argument the X channel of the displayed profile.  If the X axis is the fiducials which is most often the case, then the returned argument is NULLSYMB, because the fiducial is not a real channel, but rather it is generated on the fly as needed from the start and increment information of the channel.  If however the x axis of the profile is a distance channel that exists in the database then the last argument returned is the handle to that channel.

Hope this helps
Elizabeth

Subject: [gxnet]: GetProfileRangeX();

Hi,

Can anyone explain the meaning of NULLSYMB handle to me. Particularly in the context of GetProfileRangeX_EDB() function as it appears in the PLOTPROFILE.GX.  The documentation in the EDB.GXH says the parameter is the handle for the X axis. The parameter as it is set in PLOTPROFILE is ChX, but ChX is set to equal NULLSYMB.
