Guys,

Climbing Kemp yesterday? Only in my dreams.

Anyway, the procedure went well. Evidently, I had 6 things going on in my
shoulder and Dr. Speer with Southeastern Orthopedics, who I highly recommend
btw, fixed 5. The only thing he could do nothing about was the arthritis
which he said is about 30% throughout the shoulder. Probably due to all the
crashes over the years but with the right rehab, I should be 100% normal.

Basically, he cleaned out the shoulder, shaved the clavicle and removed some
bone spurs, so the small tears that I have in my rotator cuff and biceps
tendon will heal on their own. He did not do a repair of these tears hence
the reason I was out of my sling and moving around in 3 days, otherwise, I
would have been immobilized for a lot longer period of time.

PT is going well and I have about 30-35% use of the shoulder but I can not
do any lifting for some time. It is a slow process, as Brian can attest to.
I hope to be doing some easy riding by December and riding with the group in
January as long as you guys stay clear and keep me out of any trouble. :)

I have done an hour on the trainer, which is beyond my expectations BUT it
is not easy when you have to support yourself with just one arm. I try to
sit up and spin like a recumbent and it does help some but I have to say
that it does not help the family jewels much especially when I have to do
this on a small road saddle. Ouch!

I have had numerous calls and emails checking on my status. I appreciate it
guys and occasionally I will stop by a ride just to check in and see
everyone. If anything, it'll help fill the void of not riding with you
G-heads.

See ya soon! Stay safe.
Tony
