A great day for a ride today! Sunny and not too cold. Perfect.

After an inauspicious beginning, where we had 2 riders go off the front (you
both know who you are!) in the first miles, and when we hit Peed we were
already fragmented into 3 groups. I raised a fuss about this and Ed, Steve and
I dropped back into Bert's group, but we still had 4 riders in 2 groups off the
front.

At Old Weaver we were all back together and had a nice ride. Bert took the
longest pull of the day and I think that he did this to set the tempo for the
ride. Quite a sacrifice on his part but it worked. We were together until we
hit that climb on Cheek just after the sprint to the county line.

On Patterson it was Steve, Randy, Gary TLC, and myself. Randy did all of the
navigating back to PU. Thanks Ran. Gary saw his girlfriend Wendy somewhere
around Melvin Arnold and was ordered by her to split from us and draft her back
to PU. A truly obedient Casper Milk toast from the Lone Star State.

While on that subject I wanted to welcome Gary and Wendy to the Gyros. I had a
very nice conversation with them after the ride and did not realize that they
have only been in town for about a month. Wendy is a staunch Republican, and
Gary is a bike mechanic!! I can have Gary working on my bike while Wendy and I
talk politics!! Wow. Based on today's ride all that I have to do is have Wendy
tell Gary what to do. (I hope that they have a good sense of humor!!)

I plan on doing Kim's ride tomorrow, but, I plan on doing his ride every Sunday
and I have only made a couple of them.

Be safe, and stay warm.
