My recollection from years past is that the pace was relatively controlled
for about the first 10-15 mi, the lead group was probably 22+ (I don't know,
cause I never saw em after about 20 miles !), but there were plenty of us in
several slower groups, possibly down to sub 17, and it's a straight out and
back course (bike route 1 ?). I think cue sheets can also be printed from
the NCBC web site. I'll be out of town and will miss it this year. Y'all
have fun!
Kevin

Year's Day

You can ride at the speed you want, there will be cue sheets, the front
group will avg. 20+ This is a race not a no drop ride believe me the top
rider in Raleigh will be there. That's my opinion. PUE start Randy
