Once again it was another fine night to be out riding. The stars, full moon, and crisp air were intoxicating.
Anyway, we can now add 2 members to our Gyro Night Owl division. A big bonjour to Claude Monnier (the tandem was conjoined!), and, David Bender (who brought with him a helmet cam that I think they use for night baseball...with him behind me I could see a caterpillar crawling up a tree at 1000 paces...) So, we had Tony, Bert, myself, Dave, Smith Doss and Claude. Tony took us along the newly paved section of Southview, and we now have another stretch of road taking us to and from Baptist. I think that this will be a much used section of road since it helps connect 2 roads that we use often: Kemp and Baptist. Other than some lighting issues (both Tony and I had our lights go out; than again our wive's would state that this has been the case for many years...), and, once the Tandem and Dave pulled off to head home we only had Bert with a headlamp. But, we are experienced night riders and kept close to Bert and everything went just fine. Although the boys decided against taking Covered Bridge (unbeknownst to me) it was a great ride. I believe that we had 29 miles at a 17.6 pace. Come on out, Gyros! An enchanting evening is your's to behold.
