Gyros,

Please check out the link below. Complete Streets will mandate that all new or
redesigned roadways must accommodate all modes of transportation in addition to
automobiles.

If its important to you, please forward it to anyone you know that cares.

** Please forward **

Everyone please take 30-seconds to click on the link below to add your name to
the petition asking United States Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood (Obama's
DOT chief) to support Complete Streets.

As a result of overwhelming support in the past couple days, Secretary LaHood
has just agreed to meet with representatives of Transportation for America
(T4A) to discuss pedestrian safety in relation to national transportation
policy. Now T4A wants 1,000 more signatures by midnight tomorrow (Friday) to
demonstrate widespread support for real change.

Please forward the email below to anyone you know who cares about pedestrian
safety and who might take 30 seconds to add their name to the petition.

Steven,

Since I wrote you on Monday, your response in demanding safer streets has
helped to create a wonderful opportunity: Our team has just scheduled a meeting
with U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to discuss pedestrian safety.

It's a great chance to get the administration on board with addressing a
glaring problem with our streets. We'll be delivering all the signatures to the
"Demand Safer Streets!" petition in that meeting - including yours! - but we
need 1,000 more signatures by midnight tomorrow to really make a big impression.

You can help by asking your friends to sign on too. It's easy - just visit our
site to send an online postcard that will get their attention.

I've included an example of the postcard below. (If you can't see the image,
click here to view it on our website.) Thank you again for helping to make our
streets safer.

Sincerely,

Ilana Preuss
National Outreach Director
Transportation for America

------ SAMPLE POSTCARD ------

If a jumbo jet filled with 400 passengers dropped from the sky every month, you
can bet it would get serious federal attention. Well, that's about many
pedestrians are killed on U.S. streets every month - but until now it hasn't
gotten nearly the attention it deserves.

The good news is that we can fight the problem at the root with strong
leadership and more resources from the White House for "Complete Streets" -
policies that will ensure that streets are designed with all road users in
mind, not just motorists.

Join me in asking U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to make safer
streets a priority!
