2010 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships: Tabor
Worldwide on Cycling TV this weekend! (Excl. US)
We hope you're enjoying some winter miles wherever you are in the world, or
perhaps appreciating the delights of the turbo trainer if you're house-bound
by the snow and ice. Whilst the weather is less than desirable for many of
us, what better way to spend a weekend than in the comfort of your home
enjoying the conclusion of a superb season of Cyclo-Cross, in the form of
the all-important World Champs. With a forecast showing a good chance of
snow for the 'cross competitors it's our turn to sit back and watch the
pro's contend with the elements as they battle it out for the Championship
crown and close off the 2009/2010 season.
Last year's winners Marianne Vos and Niels Albert both won their final races
as World Champions in Hoogerheide, but narrowly missed out on the World Cup
overall. Despite any disappointment that may have caused, they've proven
they've got the form to take to the Worlds and attempt to defend their
titles. Two other riders who've got great form right now are Katerina Nash
and Zdenek Stybar, both Czech riders who could well be on course to win
stunning victories in front of their home crowd in Tabor. Factor in a whole
bunch of other world-class riders and a spectacular course, and this is
guaranteed to be a dramatic finale to the cyclo-cross season.
