I was informed about a great effort on Tuesday's ride that is worthy of
mention. (I am certain that there were more, but Woodward and Bernstein I am
not, so they will have to remain personal memories.)

As we know, Sean, Bryan, and Logan formed a strong lead group early in the
ride, and I reported that this triumvirate (they were Antony, Lepidus, and
Octavian, and the Gyros the Roman Empire) managed to stay away and finish
together. And, this with the rest of us chasing them like Zero pilots
protecting the Shokaku at Midway.

I also mentioned a first chase group, but I was not aware of the furious effort
exhibited by Keil, David, and one other rider (sorry...wearing the Italia
jersey). They obviously worked very well together until there was just one
left, David, who managed to tack on to the lead group. So there were 4! Cancel
my triumvirate references...

Great action. I would loved to have seen Keil's HR readings in those final
miles! Or, David's. It is unlikely that either of them were below 95%...

Looking forward to more drama and great cycling next Tuesday.

PS. How many years did my historical analogies cover? Hey, it isn't always
about cycling, you know...
