If you want something in town try the stretch where St. Marys St becomes Lassiter Mill Rd. Where the street name changes is the valley of Crabtree Creek. Climbing up the St. Marys side to Glenwood is a long gradual climb of 1/2 mile. Climbing up the Lassiter Mill side to Six Forks and North Hills is very steep, levels off, then climbs again. That's a little over 1/2 mile. There are usually lots of cyclists out there but I would not ride it between 5-6 in the afternoon. Traffic is usually bad.
