The climb up Salt Pond to the Mountain Lake Lodge this weekend on the Mountains of Misery event is much like Zoncolon, in that it is also a 12% average grade, with the main difference being that it is 5km while Zoncolon is 10km. But arriving at the base of Salt Pond with roughly 100 miles and 8k' on your legs, well it feels like Zoncolon in every respect as the climbing starts. Its just plain tough.
