Gyrosians,

First, a reminder that we are doing our mountain ride on Saturday, June 12th.
Details to come.

Secondly, before our ride, we will be meeting with Senator Hunt @ 7:50am at the
Circle K in Harrington Grove. Our ride leaves from St. Francis Church so we'll
head over from there. Please be early. We'll leave the church at 7:45. This
meeting is in regards to the new law proposing that it will be illegal for
cyclists to ride two abreast so let's show Senator Hunt our disdain for this
law by showing up in numbers. If you can't ride on Saturday but can still come
over to HG, please do so.

We'll also be keeping a close eye on the weather for Saturday. Would you
believe they are forecasting more rain?

There is no cue sheet for the route below so look at it carefully so you become
familiar with the roads that you are not.

See you all on Saturday.

THE PLAN:
One or more groups will leave with the intent of riding as a group at a target
pace. We will try to cover the same routes, albeit a shorter distance for the
slower group, so if you're struggling or want to ride at an easier pace, you
can move back to a slower group. If you're already in the slowest group, the
ride leader will check to make sure you can make your way back alone or with
another volunteer. You'll know within the first 7 miles whether or not you're
strong enough to maintain the pace. The general rule is that you should be able
to maintain at least a 19+mph pace for the A Group, 18mph pace for 40-50 miles
with the B+ Group or a 16mph pace for 30-40 miles with the B Group, when
considering which group to ride with. If you can not maintain these paces, then
it is suggested that you consider the C/B- Sunday ride. (Please refer to the
link above).

Each group should make a concerted effort to keep the group together but there
will always be those who want to pick up the pace on the return. It is more
appropriate to do this the last 5-7 miles of a ride. The short hammer sessions,
that are always inevitable during our rides, will not be affected.
