When I arrived at the ride last night Steve was the only rider there. And, it
was 5:40...Clearly, many riders have decided to do something else. I suggested
that we head over to the Kicks ride, and, by the time we strolled over we did
have 3 others show up. So, we added our numbers to theirs.

I did not plan on riding with the fast boys for very long, and I pulled off on
Cheek after taking a pull (a mistake) and turned up Hereford. Keil, Steve, and
the others hung with the big boys, but, I am not sure how they made out. I
finished my proposed course (up Kemp) and was pleased with getting in a good
ride.

It is clear that changes need to be made to the Tuesday format. After speaking
with Tony and Keil, and, after seeing such a big drop in attendance I need to
see if the lost in interest is due to others wanted to do something else, or,
that most riders just are not having much fun with this ride.

I would love some suggestions and opinions, but, for now the first thing that
is going to change is the ride philosophy. Not a major change, since I think
that we still need what would be considered a fast ride. What I am going to
propose is controlling the ride until we hit Burton, add back those 2 Primes so
that we can still test the legs (Burton and Cheek & the Doc and Leesville),
and, giving recognition (instead of points) for the first 3 finishers.

I will listen to what others have to say; talk to Tony, and, see what we come
up with. One way or another there will always be a Tuesday ride!!

Rick
