Morning Rick:
Why are you changing times? All of the other rides start at 5:45
and have been well attended so I don't think that start time is the
issue. As other stated the weather and Holiday week changed a lot of
peoples schedule? I personally prefer the 5:45.

I appreciate all of the feedback regarding the need for changing the Tuesday
Rick's Ride format. The consensus was that it was various circumstances coming
together all at once that kept most of the riders away last week. More a matter
of coincidence than any deeper meaning.
There will only be one change in the ride:
IT WILL BEGIN AT 6:00pm SHARP!
The ride will be the same with one request: I ask our strongest riders to hold
back on the throttle just a bit as we head up Coley/Kemp to allow more riders
to stay on without going into the red so early in the ride. Many of us do not
have the time to get in a proper warm-up, and, hammering right out of the shoot
does not really add much to the overall average speed, and, may actually take
away some strong legs later in the ride.
We still want to ride fast, but, with just a bit more of a sense of controlling
things a bit until we hit Patterson on the way out. A steady, hard pace without
sudden surges as new riders go to the front is how we were doing it earlier.
This falls on our strongest riders: those who are in the best form. (You guys
know who you are...)
Date: Tuesday, June 8
Time: 6:00pm SHARP!
Place: St. Francis
Distance: 31 miles
*Course: Standard
Pace: 22-23
*If you are not familiar with the Standard course please email me privately and
I will send you the directions.
Let's see you out there! My ride wants the "buzz back"...
