I just hope that we all don't take Tony for granted. He just will not allow our Saturday rides to get redundant, and keeps coming up with new roads for us to traverse.
I really enjoyed today's ride because of the all the new roads that we experienced, and it takes a bit of extra work to come up with these. It would be very easy to do what most clubs do: ride pretty much the same course every week. I don't mind this for our weekday rides; we just don't have the time to experiment with new roads. But, having something different now and then on our Saturday rides makes for some fun riding. And, how about us Gyros coming up on the HG riders on the first hump up Patterson as we headed home? We can all thank Marc B. for this. As we turned onto Cheek he turned up the throttle and opened up a gap. No one went with him, so he was going to do this on his own. This is the type of courage that it takes to improve your riding skills...hanging yourself out to dry by going solo after almost 70 miles of riding. He deserved the respect that comes with this type of effort by having the group organize a chase to reel him back in. And, he was not easy to bring back! We did get organized, and, eventually caught him on the first rise up Patterson. This is where we ran up on the HG boys. Unlike Tuesday, we did not respectfully hang back...our lead boys went on by!! Hey, the Gyros are for real. Maybe Rich Harper will decide that it is time to join our group rides. Rick I guess that the Gryos are the top riding club in town. -- You received this message because you subscribed to the Gyro email group.
