THE EPIC TALE OF AN AMERICAN ADVENTURER AND HIS MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.

In 1892, Frank Lenz set off on a 20,000 mile world tour on the forerunner of
the modern bike. He never completed the trip. Author David Herlihy will
discuss and sign copies of his new book, *The Lost Cyclist: The Epic Tale of
an American Adventurer and His Mysterious Disappearance, *about Frank Lenz,
a young man who left Pittsburgh in the spring of 1892 to cycle around the
world.
Herlihy will give a digital slideshow of photographs Lenz took before his
world tour (on an old-fashioned “high-wheeler”) and during his trip through
the U.S., Japan, China, Burma, India, and Persia.
Herlihy is also the author of *Bicycle: The History. *
