There are 2 significant changes for this Tuesday's ride: a different starting
location, and, a slight change in course to gain back some of the miles that
are loss from this change.

Change 1: New starting location is at the Shady Grove church located on
Carpenter Pd. between Virgil and Coley. This change was proposed to me by Tony
to avoid the first 2 intersections that we encounter when we leave from St.
Francis. I fully agreed with this. Shady Grove is about 1 1/2 from St. Francis,
and has adequate parking. I have parked there myself on the last 2 rides, and
there are no cars in the lot at that time. We will head out of the parking lot
heading left on Carpenter Pd. (See below.)

Change 2: We will ride the same course until we are on Geer. We will take Geer
past Burton all the way to Junction which is just past the school, and under
the overpass at the intersection where the new Wal-Mart is. (We all know this
turn...) I have the new course listed below.

STARTING LOCATION: Shady Grove Church
(http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3814664)
Time: 5:45pm
Distance: 31 miles
Pace: 21-23
Course:

Shady Grove parking lot to Carpenter Pd. (L)
Carpenter Pd. to Leesville (R)
Leesville to the Doc (R)
The Doc to Olive Branch (L)
Olive Branch to 98 (L)
98 to Patterson (R)
Patterson to Cheek (R)
Cheek to Hereford (L)
Hereford to Redwood (R)
Redwood to Geer (L)
Geer to Junction (L)
Junction to Ferrell (L) (cross railroad tracks...)
Ferrell to Carpenter Rd. (R)
Carpenter Rd to Cheek (L)
Cheek to Patterson (R)
Patterson to Olive Branch (R)
Olive Branch to the Doc (R)
The Doc to Leesville (L)
Leesville to Carpenter Pd. (L)
Carpenter Pd. to Shady Grove (ride ends at church)*

*I would suggest ending the hammering when you reach the church parking lot,
and turn right onto Shady Grove Rd.

Rick

PS. You need not pass on displeasures with the change in starting location to
me. Let it pass...and get out and ride. If it turns out to be a problem (church
activities unbeknownst to us hitherto) we will go back to St. Francis. I like
the idea of getting rolling without interruptions right from the get-go.
