First, I want to tip my helmet to the 8 riders who ignored the 99 degree
weather and decided to ride last night.

Second, I want to apologize to the group for turning around at the half-way
point without indicating to anyone that I was going to be doing this. As is I
cycled to the ride I knew that my legs were too heavy to handle a hard pace for
any length of time. (Here comes the excuses!...I teach a cycling and Boot Camp
class on Tuesdays, and, I am too beat up to handle anything to challenging...)

The pace was very reasonable up Patterson, and, then Cheek, and the guys were
doing a nice job of staying together. I am not sure how things ended up, but, I
would suspect that the heat took something out of everybody. Steve was probably
the strong one, but I would not want to disparage or denigrate another rider!

Once again, thanks to those hard core cyclists who made it to Rick's ride.
(Hey, Bert, what was it that you said to Tony when he called you to bail? Hey,
Tony, do what I do when I bail on a ride...leave a voice message...)

Rick
