Lance isn't brooding; he's banged up. You don't heal as fast at his age. Beyond that, he went deep into his reserves on Sunday trying to stay in contention after the crashes. He's in recovery mode. I think that his inability to help Levi is being mistaken for a lack of desire or commitment. Unless he had a personality disorder stike on the rest day, his performance the last 4 days is a function of his physical condition, not his mental state. Lance has never quit at anything or tried less than whatever is his best at that time. Don't bury him yet.
