Sorry I missed you Tom. I ran into Don and Fernando and they told me you were also there. The crowd was getting pretty large at the start though, and it was difficult picking people out. There were several riders from Raleigh there. I rode the 75 with the Jefferson climb. It was a really good event and well supported. Just too bad about the fog and drizzle during the first part. This was a bit of a bummer. But things improved as the morning progressed. I stayed overnight and rode another route today that included the Todd Railroad Grade. This travels alongside the New River for about 10 miles and the scenery is gorgeous. There are some great cycling roads in and around Jefferson/ W. Jeff.
They are thinking about staging the event from the High School next year, as it better supports the growing number of riders and, they will open the gym for showers.
