Subject: [Gyros: 16328] To all Gyro climbers - My trip to NY

For all the Gyros who love "HILLS" and love to "CLIMB", I thought it would
be fun to show you what I do when I go back home to Utica, NY. Went last
week/weekend and did a little climbing. I always come back here describing
the beautiful countryside that Central NY has to offer so I thought I'd take
some photos of some of the hills I climbed while there. (Only 2 things I
miss most about living in NY - the cycling and the food - that's it!)

Just to brief you a little about Utica. It is located in the Mohawk Valley.
Hmmm, the word "valley" should stir up images of steep hills, lots of steep
hills. Traveling north and south is exactly that - all hills.

Now, this is not the "mountains" that you'll find here in western Carolina
or the mountainous region of Virginia that Andy likes to punish riders on
nor is it the mountains of Pennsylvania that Logan likes to hammer on BUT,
nonetheless, they are great hills with climbs running anywhere from 1-3
miles in length with grades as steep as 12%.

Please note the shots taken from the top of 2 of these climbs looking down
on Utica giving you a sense of how high you actually are. (NewYork1, 2, 8 &
9).

Also note my favorite shot which is NewYork10. This was taken from across a
narrow part of the valley looking to the other side. Notice the road that
goes up the side of this hill. From the bottom, that is about a 1 1/2 mile
climb. Did that climb a few years back. Gotta love it!

Anyway, enjoy the scenery.

(THIS WILL BE UNDER 2 EMAILS)
