Two of the better venues in the Raleigh area are Beaver Dam & New Light; both
on the shores of Falls Lake, on or near Creedmor Rd, North of Hwy 98. Check out
http://www.trianglemtb.com/beaverdam.php
Beaver Dam is great for a newbie, with an easy to follow trail layout and good
map. Also buff trails; the stunts all have go arounds. New Light is far more
technical, and the maps don't match the trails very well. Still, a good place
to ride, but with more challenges, both riding & navigating.
Lots of good riding in the Western end of the state. Tsali, in Pisgah NF, near
Asheville is good.
PM me if you want to ride.
