This is so true. We are at the mercy of drivers every time we go out. As I was riding up Leesville to meet up with Andy's ride last Wednesday traffic was pretty heavy and cars were whizzing by every few seconds, it seemed. I was hugging the shoulder as far to the right as I could and still remain on safe "footing".
Suddenly I hear a loud screeching of brakes right behind me, and when I looked back it was a pick-up truck who was going to swing around me but had to suddenly avoid the idiot behing him who wasn't going to wait. Imagine this. The car was going to pass the pick-up truck and then pass me while traffic is heavy. He was completely in the lane for oncoming traffic and forced the pick-up to take evasive measures as he moved out to pass me. Needless to say I was a bit shaken and could not wait to get into the safety of the group! I guess the point here is that I could have easily been hit and realized, as Donna said, that we are truly vulnerable to the whims of drivers. ---- DonnaWebster <[email protected]> wrote: > Gary my dear friend, > So so sorry to hear about your accident but just thankful that you are > okay...just another reminder how vunerable we can all be 'out > there'....xoxoxo > > On Sep 24, 2:19 pm, slow down <[email protected]> wrote: > > Does anybody the details af the accident?
