Some of the Sunday touring ride regulars are planning a ride this Saturday, Oct 30th, from Greensboro to Cary. We will meet at the Cary Amtrak rail station in time to catch the 0705 to Greensboro and then bike back to the Amtrak station (75 miles). Fare is $9.50 with 10% discount for AAA and 15% for over 62 (includes bike). The route link is:

There are still some hills but not much traffic. We will have a mid-morning stop at the Alamance Battlefield Park and a lunch stop at the Saxapahaw General Store: http://www.saxgenstore.com/cafe/menu/ There will be a mid afternoon rest stop. This is a no drop ride. The pace will be 15-16 mph. There are currently 4 riders signed up: Dana Copeland, Martha Webb, Mike Dalton, and MIke Lord. We have reserved all of the bike racks available on the train (6) for that morning so we can take two more riders in the racks. We welcome as many as want to ride but after the first six you have to put your bike in a box in checked luggage (see the Amtrak website). Forecast for next Saturday is sunny with a high of 65. Leaves should be nice. We would welcome additional riders.
