Dave, I recall that sound, but thought it was something larger than a ring on the road. I heard it just as be rounded the bend and headed down the final stretch to the entrance of Rolling View. I am thinking it may have come off between my layers when putting my cycling clothes on this morning and then slowly worked itself out.
