This little tidbit filtered up through the
Montgomery Bike Club's web site. If someone tosses around
some smack talk that cycling is too dangerous, toss these
numbers back at them....
From a listing at an online news site (recently
bought by AOL!)
Your odds of dying in a Bicycling accident are 1 in 4147. How does that stack up with other ways to die? Odds of being killed while walking: 1/623 (almost 7 times as likely to die this way than on a bike) while a passenger in a car: 1/272 while driving a car: 1/85 from cancer: 1/7. Biking looks good, doesn't it? Morgan __._,_.___
