Ride Report for the Thursday, April 7, 5:45pm Trek Store (Dave R's) ride: Statistics:
Notes: The weather was great, slight to mild wind at times. Everyone did a great job pulling. It was a very, very, steady EFFORT ride. On Coley we rode from Kemp to 98 in a rotating pace line for our "drills and skills" work. Again, a great job by all working on smooth transitions, staying close to the rider in front and to the side, and a steady effort. After crossing Creedmoor on Mt. Vernon Church Rd, the challenge was to ride all the way down to the bridge and all the way up to the stop sign in the top gear, 53/11, or "big/little". This broke up the group while everyone tested their legs. We regrouped after the stop sign, and returned to a very, very steady effort all the way to the last Raven Ridge Hill. Raven Ridge Hill was taken a little harder, but still taken as a "group effort" and not a "race or sprint" effort. More bikes are welcome as this ride should not be viewed as an all out speed/distance ride. I'd like to see this ride focus on skills, form, and a very steady EFFORT. Thanks to all who turned out! Respectfully submitted, Steve (Ride Leader Sub). -- You received this message because you subscribed to the Gyro email group.
