The 2011 Road Dog Rally will start this Saturday (9/24) at 8am from Pleasant
Union Elementary.

There will be two routes:
· 62m (Road Dog Metric)
· 100m (Century Route)

The Century and Metric follow the same route until the break at the Metric
turn-around point at US158 in Oxford.

There will also be two starting times:
8am for the faster A/A- riders (regardless of whether you’re riding the Century
or Metric route).
Tony Santalucia will be leading the Century ride.
Those of you who are planning to ride a fast Metric can follow the Bike Route 1
signs on your way back from Oxford. I've learned (many times in the past) that
the folks who ride this Metric route fast don't need a leader. ;^)
8:05am for those of us who want to give the A/A- riders a head start. I’ll be
leading this controlled pace "B" group and expect to average ~17mph – maybe a
little faster or slower, depending on the group. "Controlled Pace" may be a
foreign concept to some of you, so I'll explain - if you're "on the front" and
going too fast, you'll soon find yourself "off the front".

If you don’t have the time or energy to ride either of the planned routes
above, you might consider riding out-and-back to Wilton. It’s a very nice
half-Metric that’s mostly flat, except for the hills. In past adventures, this
has been the ad-hoc (or is it “ad-hack”) route for some riders who “tried” to
keep up with the fast guys and blew-up early.

You might be a Road Dog if:
- You can find your way back from Wilton, without the aid of a GPS.

Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday,
-Tom
