Andrew,

You have made a very appropriate action by contacting the BPAC. This advisory 
body was appointed by the City Council to provide them with "guidance and 
leadership on all matters concerning bicycle and pedestrian activities" in 
Raleigh. 

And, maybe this is ironic, but, according to what I have read Mike Dayton was 
injured in the accident, and, I believe that this is the same Mike Dayton who 
Chairs the BPAC. I have seen his name in the minutes of the meetings that they 
hold once per month on Mondays. 

If this is correct they will be well aware of this incident. 

We might take a step back and wait to see what they want to do, and add our 
support. They are very active and would be our greatest advocacy group. If you 
read through the minutes from last year on their website you will see how much 
they have done, and how they have the "ear" of City Council, and the 
Legislature.
