As an obese woman (200+) who is currently pregnant and have a toddler to deal with, I don't go out a lot (especially in summertime when it's 100+ out). When I do go out, I don't wear the current fashions or bother trying to deal with current fashions. I am working on figuring out my own fashion sense of style and have come to accept this body, for all its lumps, bumps, and current back pains (pregnancy isn't grand sometimes). This is why I appreciate being able to sew my own garments.
But I am glad that larger fashions for us larger women are actually looking decent for a change, and not just a larger version of a thin fashion maker's idea of beautiful. Larger women are designing clothes made to fit and be attractive on larger women, and I am so thankful for that.
But I would still rather have fun with historical fashions. While I may not fit the "ideal" thinnness of those times either (depending on time frame), to my eye, they are much more attractive in many ways than the current loose-fit-rectangular-tube-on-a-stick fashions of today.
But that's my thoughts, and everyone's will be different. :-) Kimiko _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
