Hello :o )

I am very glad to meet you.

I am fairly new to the list, a recent American immigrant to Australia, Susie White. I have had intense urges to sew costumes for as long as I can remember, and having recently joined the SCA, my interest in historical accuracy has zoomed lol

I have had reason to comb the net lately for medieval references, and remember seeing something about nursing attire on Margo Anderson's site (www.margospatterns.com) under "Future Releases". She has introduced a package of patterns called, "The Elizabethan Comfort Patterns" which are based on the Janet Arnold Kirtle and Gown from _Patterns Of Fashion_. There are directions for maternity hemlines and breast feeding openings, something I remember well ;o ) lol having had two children, myself. Don't know if this sort of resource is your bailiwick or not, but is the only thing I've found recently. I do wish you well, _and_ plenty of rest!!! Remember to take care of Mom, Nancy :o )

Thank you all so very much for all the information you share so freely, and to the creators of the list... Brilliant!!! Absolutely Brilliant!!! :o )

Susie

Subject: [h-cost] medieval garb for nursing mothers

Are there any on-line sites about medieval garb for nursing mothers?
Thank you.
